Making
Like all our pieces, this one is made by hand in natural plant lacquer inlaid with eggshell, using the rankaku technique: the shell fragments are laid one by one, then covered with about four coats of lacquer and pigment, each wet-sanded, before a final polish. Craftsmanship in detail
Finishes
Shown here in beige fini and café fini. Each model is offered in several of the house's fourteen colors and patterns; we will tell you which are available for this piece. See the finishes
Care
The surface is unvarnished: it keeps the natural depth of the lacquer and can be repaired by simple sanding. Like any noble material, it only asks for a little care.
Lead time and ordering
Each piece is made to order, in about 22 weeks, and numbered. Prices are given on quotation; no sale is concluded online. Architects and interior designers: trade terms and spec sheet on request. Trade area
